Club Malua

Whitcon Group was awarded the 2023 Master Builders Association award for Excellence in Construction, Hospitality Buildings up to $10 M for the rebuild of Club Malua.

During the devastating bushfires of 2019, the recently renovated Club Malua unfortunately fell victim to the massive fire front which swept through the region on New Years Eve, 31 December 2019. From the outset, the Cabra Bowls Group (who had recently amalgamated with the club) reassured the local community that the club would be re-built bigger and better.

This project is a unique building of this nature in a small coastal town on the south coast of NSW. A large contemporary venue with material selections, finishes and features not only in abundance but in contrast to anything else in the area. Yet it fits perfectly with a sense of calm and lightness present, seeing crisp neutrals offset by deep navy and rich honey hues, mirroring the coastal landscape.
