Belbird Hotel

Established in 1914, the Bellbird Hotel is a prominent heritage-listed hotel within the Hunter Valley region. In 2023, the venue underwent its first major refurbishment and extension works in over a century.

The driving concept for the client was to revitalise and maintain the charm of the existing heritage interiors and building facade, whilst breathing new life into the venue with the construction of two new outdoor beer garden areas that perfectly compliment the existing heritage structure and Hunter Valley surrounds.

This design objective is achieved through an extensive restoration and enhancement of the existing heritage building facade addressing the main street frontages, combined with a refurbished modern country-pub interior space adorned with premium materials.

The design skillfully incorporates contemporary interior trends that are seamlessly blended with elements of traditional country-style pubs, evoking the enduring and timeless charm of Australian country hotels from the turn of the 20th century.
